API Access

Beginning October 1, 2019, MVH will allow patients to access their health information through an application programming interface (API). Depending on the application chosen, you may be able to access information such as your medications, allergies or lab results. Frequently Asked Questions

Patient Portal photoHow do I enroll in myMVHrecord?
Visit any of our registration areas on the first floor of the main hospital or complete a registration form on your next visit to MVH. We will send you an email explaining how to register for the first time. Once you've accessed the myMVHrecord Portal from this email and chosen a new username password, you can safely, privately and securely explore the myMVHrecord Portal. After this initial log in, you only need to visit MVH's website and click on the "myMVHrecord Patient Portal Login" button above and simply enter your user name and password.

How does a secure Patient Portal work?
A secure Patient Portal is a webpage that uses industry standard encryption so secure information can only be read by someone who knows the correct username and password.

Where does my health information in the Patient Portal come from?
All of the information in the myMVHrecord Portal comes from your Monongahela Valley Hospital Electronic Health Record. This ensures that you have access to the most accurate, up-to-date information possible about your MVH visits. This portal differs from your primary care physicians' portals.

Patient Portal photoCan my family access my Portal?
You can give access to family members such as your parents, children or health care proxies by visiting any Registration area at MVH.

Is my information safe?
Yes. The myMVHrecord Portal passwords are encrypted and URLs are re-written so that they cannot be copied and pasted. Only you and those you designate can access your myMVHrecord Portal. Also, a timeout feature protects your information if you leave the Portal page open.

What if I ever have technical problems with the Portal?
There is a Contact Us section on the homepage of the myMVHrecord Portal that allows you to submit any questions you have regarding the Portal. For assistance between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, please call 724-258-1744.

State compliance for minors
According to Pennsylvania state regulations, once your child turns 13, access to your child's account is deactivated. For children ages 13-17, parents may have proxy access if the minor patient signs an authorization form. Once the child turns 18, your access to their myMVHrecord account is deactivated. Your "adult" child can grant you proxy access through an authorization form in our Medical Records Department.
