Position: Manager Infection Prevention and Control; Full-Time
Description: Manager Infection Prevention and Control Risk Management Department Function: The Infection Prevention and Control Manager performs managerial responsibilities for the Monongahela Valley Hospital Infection Prevention and Control Program. In collaboration and consultation with Infectious Disease Physicians and department managers will formulate, implement, and monitor the Infection Prevention and Control Program practices and interventions to insure the effectiveness in prevention and control of infections. Establishes a program of Infection Prevention and Control that meets the requirements of regulator y and accrediting agencies. Responsibilities: - Develops goals and objectives for the Infection Prevention and Control Program consistent with needs and organizational goals and objectives. - Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of an effective Infection Prevention and Control Program within Monongahela Valley Hospital for the protection of patients, hospital personnel, visitors, volunteers, and the environment. - Responsible for hospital-wide integration of the Infection Prevention and Control Program into the primary functions of the hospital, as well as, the coordination and integration of interdepartmental policies or services as they relate to Infection Prevention and Control. - Prepares and participates in the development of policies and procedures governing practices for infection prevention and control for patient management, environmental control, and employee health and safety. - Implements a surveillance system using CDC definitions for infection. Reviews Laboratory findings and Medical Imaging findings to assess for infection communicability. Analyses surveillance data to determine incidence of healthcare associated infections. - Coordinates Performance Improvement Program with NHSN (National Healthcare Safety Network) and continuously assess and improves the quality of care/services provided. - Actively participates in quality initiatives. - Investigates outbreaks of infection. Directs and/or performs necessary epidemiological follow-up and implements necessary controls to prevent further outbreaks. - Participates in the identification, evaluation, selection, and implementation of products purchased for use within the hospital that have infection prevention and control aspects or are used for sterilization, disinfection, decontamination, and isolation purposes. - Reports to appropriate state, county, or local health care agencies regarding “reportable diseases.” - Uses NHSN to report healthcare associated infections to the Patient Safety Authority, PHC4, and PA DOH. - Presents infection related data and implements recommendations from the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and other committees’ activities. - Conducts periodic review of hospital’s overall compliance with established Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures per JCAHO, CDC, Department of Health, OSHA, and other professional infection control organizations. -Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide Infection Prevention and Control Services. - Participates in Antimicrobial Stewardship activities. - Mentors the Infections Preventionists. Requirements: - Graduate of a School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or equivalent. - Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. - Two years clinical experience required in nursing service, and a working knowledge of the principles of epidemiology and infection diseases. - RN, Infection Control Certification preferred. - Education, training, or supervised experience related to infection surveillance, prevention, and control. - Proficient in the use of surveillance technologies and health informatics.

Position: Registered Nurse - PCU (Full-Time)
Description: JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse DEFINITION: The Registered Nurse under the direction of the Nurse Manager, shall perform those functions of the team member as delegated to provide for the personal care and needs of the patient and observation of the patient=s cardiac rhythms. He/she will perform the functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, observing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all assigned patient care in collaboration with the other Registered Nurses assigned to care for the patients on PCU. Position: Payroll Coordinator (Full-Time)
Description: Monongahela Valley Hospital is accepting applications for a Full-Time Payroll Coordinator. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the preparation and computation of accurate payroll records, and will implement the orderly and timely payment of salaries to employees. The Payroll Coordinator will also coordinate submissions of payroll records into a computer system for preparation of payroll checks. Furthermore, the Payroll Coordinator will act as a liaison between departments, as well as resolve claims made by employees with payroll matters. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing timely reconciliations of all payroll registers and payroll general ledger accounts. Education and Experience: Business Administration education, an associate’s degree , preferred. The successful candidate must also be familiar with Federal and State payroll tax regulations. Knowledge of personal computer applications and three (3) years payroll experience as Meditech and ADP experience a plus.

Position: Physical Therapy Aide / Outpatient Physical Therapy (Full time)
Description: Job Summary: The Orthopedic Group is hiring a Full-Time Physical Therapy Aide to support their Mt. Lebanon physical therapy office. This position will be Monday thru Friday with morning and evening hours required. Responsibilities: • Assist in the provision of patient care under the direct supervision of the licensed clinical staff and in accordance with PA practice acts for those disciplines. Provides both clinical and clerical support as required by the facility • Answer telephone calls to the department in a polite and professional manner. Schedule appointments, takes messages, and provides information as needed • Assist with transfer and set up of patients as requested by staff within the physical therapy department • Checks in and escorts patient to appropriate treatment areas, informs attending therapist of patient's presence in clinic, and awaits further direction from therapist on the next steps in patient's activities for that session • Consistently informs the attending licensed clinician of patient's verbal and non-verbal response to treatment • Discusses care of patients with the licensed clinicians prior to initiating patient activities • Documents statistics, activities, exercises and outcomes as directed by the licensed clinician • Assist with maintaining an adequate supply of linens necessary for daily functioning of the department • Prepares and maintains the work area in a neat and orderly fashion as directed by the licensed clinician and in accordance with regulatory standards. Position: LPN to RN (Full-Time) Mon Valley Hospital (Various Units)
Description: Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse Program (LPN to RN) (Full-Time; Hospital) Program Details- - Position will participate in the tuition reimbursement program (which will assist in paying for classes form an approved institution for LPN to RN). Tuition reimbursement program pays 100% of the tuition for up to 9 credits per school year (September 1 to August 31). -LPNs hired into the program will have 24 months from date of hire to obtain RN licensure. - LPNs who are hired into the program will also agree to work for Mon Valley hospital as a Registered Nurse for a period of 24 months after they receive their licensure, or after the last tuition reimbursement payment, whichever is longer. - Program is open to all units of the hospital, consideration for offer/placement will be given to LPNs based on interest and experience. Position: Community Lab Coordinator (Part-Time, Temporary)
Description: Monongahela Valley Hospital is accepting applications for a Part-Time Temporary (35 Hours a week) Community Laboratory Coordinator. The Community Laboratory Coordinator requires exceptional phlebotomy skills to work unsupervised at the off-site blood draw center. The successful candidate must also collect blood samples on outpatients, as well as collect pre-employment urine drug screens. Alongside these samples, the candidate will also process and package specimens to be picked up by the lab courier, order blood and urine collection supplies (as needed), and conform to all Federal and State regulations pertaining to proper handling of biohazards and infectious material. This position will be Monday through Friday; daily hours vary depending on physician schedules. Travel may be required, when necessary, to assist in our other offices. Candidate will provide individualized, direct patient care of assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. The x-ray technician supports The Orthopedic Group in their mission and goals to deliver excellent health care services. The x-ray technician helps fellow employees provide the highest quality of personalized patient care and maintains a positive work relationship with the health care team. Duties and Responsibilities: • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. • Keep a steady office flow by calling patients back into exam rooms and instruct physician or PA what patient they are seeing next. • Pull up x-rays, MRI, CT, lab work etc. online in accordance to what facility the patient obtained their study from for the physician or PA to see. • Protect patients, yourself and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards. • Develop and process radiological film. • Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by Physician or PA. Maintain a low repeat rate. • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Report immediately if any equipment malfunctions to supervisor. • Log completed radiological procedures on x-ray jackets. • Complete all paperwork accurately and on time in accordance to the DME protocol. • Identify and file reports as required. • Maintain stock for all medical supplies. • Request, retrieve and track files to and from other offices. • Work closely with Physician and PA to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients. • Perform casting, bracing, staple/stitches removal, dressing changes and wound care in an accurate and timely fashion, with instruction by Physician or PA. • Prepares injection suite with proper medical supplies and operates C-arm during injections. • Prepares exam room for joint injections, ultrasound, and EMG studies with proper medical supplies/equipment. • Accountable with needed to travel to different location and assist another physician with x-ray duties. • Prepares back office for the next day depending of what each physician needs to successfully care for their patients. Position: Surgery Scheduler for The Orthopedic Group (Full time)
Description: The Orthopedic Group is accepting resumes for a full-time Surgery Scheduler to assist the orthopedic surgeons within our practice. This position is Monday thru Friday and will require travel to multiple office locations which include, Belle Vernon, Charleroi and St. Clair. Responsibilities: • Schedule and confirm patient’s surgical appointments. • Maintain and update current information on physician’s surgery schedules, including block times at various hospitals. • Discuss and counsel patients on surgery information, guidelines, facility and date and time of procedure, as needed. • Obtain insurance verification or pre-authorizations for surgical procedures, tests, scans, etc. as needed. • Coordinate information with the hospital/medical facility to ensure proper billing and authorizations. • Relay pertinent medical information to the physician with appropriate urgency. • Orders medical supplies and equipment from external vendors being requested for surgical procedures. Arrange for surgical assistants or second surgeons when necessary. • Assist in arranging for DME when necessary. • Maintain open and frequent communication with physician regarding surgical preferences. • Answer all questions from the front/back office staff in regards to medication refills, physical therapy, surgical questions, appointment concerns and physician schedules etc. • Manage physician calendar in regards to meetings, OR/office schedule and IME/DEPO appointments. • Fill in for other clinical coordinators as needed. • Performs other duties as assigned or required. Education/Experience: • Experience scheduling surgeries; preferred • High School Diploma or equivalent; required • Dependable vehicle and valid driver’s license; required • Excellent professional, organizational and communication skills • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines • Proficiency in medical terminology required • Demonstrated ability to multitask with several job functions • Advanced computer skills a plus. •
