Monongahela Valley Hospital is administering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. The CDC recommends a booster or third doses of Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for those over age 65; people age 50-64 with underlying conditions; and those at higher risk of exposure to the virus, including healthcare, frontline and essential workers. Children 5 to 11 years old are also recommended to be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine.

The COVID-19 vaccine will not be the cure for the virus. It will be another tool in toolbox for our fight against COVID-19, and we must continue to practice other efforts, like wearing a mask, hand washing and physical distancing.
