If you want to make a difference in the lives of your neighbors, we have a place for you in the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc.

The Auxiliary has its roots in two strong hospitals whose histories span more than 100 years. Monongahela Valley Hospital's Auxiliary was formed in 1978 by the merger of Monongahela Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, which was formed in 1902, with Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Auxiliary, which was organized in 1909. The two auxiliaries merged when the two hospitals joined together to form Monongahela Valley Hospital.

This volunteer group has always been a frontrunner for defining the term "working Auxiliary."

Our Auxiliary members give of their time to work shoulder-to-shoulder with hospital employees to make Monongahela Valley Hospital a great place to give and receive medical care.


Active and Associate Auxiliary Members provide support services and amenities to the hospital"s patients, visitors and as well as community residents. These services (volunteer opportunities) include:

Patron members are people who want to help the hospital but just do not have the time or they may have physical limitations. These members donate annual dues to provide financial assistance to the Auxiliary and are invited to attend the group"s many special events.
