(December 22, 2014 - Carroll Township, Pa.)
Members of the "Girls with Vision" group from New Vision Christian Tabernacle Ministries in Belle Vernon demonstrated generosity and kindness this holiday season. Six girls ages 11-15 created 45 "Chemo Care Packages" and donated them recently to cancer patients at Monongahela Valley Hospital's Charles L. and Rose Sweeney Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center. Shown is their leader Dionne Wilson, of Monessen, who delivered the packages filled with prayer packets, water bottles, lip balm and crackers, to Bonny Holmes, supervisor of Oncology at MVH. Ms. Wilson said she sat with her aunt as she went through chemotherapy treatments and remembers how it affected her. The group wanted to help cancer patients because they all know someone who has been touched by cancer.
