Monongahela Valley Hospital's Light-Up Night
draws huge crowd
(Dec. 5, 2012 — Carroll Township, Pa.)
Santa and Mrs. Claus, Christmas carols, hot cocoa and a six-foot-tall Frosty the Snowman entertained patients watching from their windows and a crowd of about 1,000 gathered in the hospital’s Central Plaza at Monongahela Valley Hospital’s 28th Annual Light-Up Night on Nov. 19.
After a welcome from President and CEO Louis J. Panza Jr., the evening’s grand moment came as two seven-year old children flipped the giant light switch, illuminating the two-story tree and several acres of decorations from Joseph’s Nursery & Garden Center in Monessen.
The children were Laura Hermann, daughter of Tracy and Philip Hermann of Monongahela, and Jakob Kenepp, son of Jaimey and Justin Kenepp of Rostraver. Tracy Hermann and Jaimey Kenepp work at MVH in the Fiscal/Insurance Office and in the Medical Imaging/Ultrasound Department, respectively.
Joseph’s also donated the glow wands distributed to children.
