More than 450 participants walked to support the prevention, early detection and treatment of breast cancer in our community at Monongahela Valley Hospital at the MVH/Lois Orange Ducoeur Breast Cancer Walk on Oct. 11 in Charleroi. The record-size crowd waved their Pink Power Towels during the first block of the one- or two-mile fun walk.

Dr. Natalie Furgiuele (center), breast surgeon and director of the Breast Care Center opening in 2015 at Monongahela Valley Hospital, spoke briefly to the crowd during opening ceremonies. Debbie Burkhardt (left), MVH's director of Radiation Oncology, spent the morning reconnecting with former patients and Lauren Altemara, MVH's director of Medical Records, helped greet former patients and welcome walkers. |
