Laughter is the Best Medicine

(September 15, 2016 - Carroll Township, Pa.)

Do you need an escape or a good laugh? Take a couple hours out of your routine to attend "A Night of Comedy to Fight Cancer." The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7) at the Donora Social Hall.

Comic headliners include John Evans, from NBC's "Last Comic Standing" Comedy Central! and Auggie Cook, the clever keyboard comic. Mike Sasson, who is heard on CBS Radio, will serve as the humorous host. The event includes a 50-50 raffle and Chinese Auction. The $25 ticket donation includes beer, soft drinks and light snacks. Attendees, who must be over 21, may BYOB.

Laurie Chester, a two-time cancer survivor who works in the Human Resources Department at Monongahela Valley Hospital, is sponsoring the event to raise funds to help cancer patients in the mid-Monongahela Valley.

"I feel we are all put on the path we are given for a reason, and given my experiences with fighting breast cancer and all the love and support that I received, I want to help support other cancer patients," explained Mrs. Chester.

Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting Laurie Chester at 724-263-3581 or they are available at the door.
