Senator Presents Monongahela Valley Hospital with Nurses Week Resolution

Senator Tim Solobay presented Monongahela Valley Hospital staff with Senate Resolution No. 374, which designated the week of May 6-12 as Nurses Week in Pennsylvania. In the resolution, he and the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association and other nursing organizations recognized the selfless service of nurses and the overall importance of quality nursing care. Pennsylvania has 212,000 registered nurses, including approximately 55,000 licensed practical nurses and 12,000 advanced practice registered nurses. The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association includes 31 organizational affiliates and is the largest professional nurses association in the Commonwealth. Prior to serving the 46th Senatorial District, Senator Solobay was employed as a radiographer and CT/MRI department supervisor at Washington Hospital. The senator's wife and sister are both nurses.
