Monongahela Valley Hospital Physician To Educate Community on Hypertension
(November 4, 2013 - Carroll Township, Pa.)
High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, can damage your body for years before any symptoms develop. It is common knowledge that if left uncontrolled, hypertension can lead to a heart attack. But, what many people do not know is that this condition also can lead to artery damage in organs throughout your body.
Ronald A. Lutes, D.O., a Monongahela Valley Hospital-affiliated physician whose specialty is nephrology (a branch of medicine that deals with diseases of the kidneys), will present a program titled "What is Hypertension?" on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. in the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. The free program will explain hypertension, its risk factors, symptoms and treatment options.
