MVH's Annual Medical Symposium Addresses Essential Updates for the Practicing Physician


(September 25, 2017 - Carroll Township, Pa.)

"Essential Updates for the Practicing Physician" will be the focus of Monongahela Valley Hospital's (MVH) 27th Annual Medical Staff Symposium, Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hospital's Anthony M. Lombardi Education and Conference Center.

Topics and speakers include:
  • "Contemporary Perspectives on Aspiration and Pneumonia" presented by Jonas Johnson, M.D., UPMC, Pittsburgh, Pa.
  • "Cardiology: Update on Cardiac Arrhythmias" presented by George C. Shaw, M.D., Allegheny Health Network, Pittsburgh, Pa.
  • "G.I.: Update of C-Diff Colitis Failure Patients" presented by Tatiana Bogdanovich, M.D., UPMC, Pittsburgh, Pa.
  • "Endocrinology: Complications of Diabetes" presented by Leann Olansky, M.D., Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio
  • "Update on Opioid Crisis (PDMP)" presented by Meghna Patel, MHA, Pennsylvania Bureau Director for Prescription Drug Monitoring Program

Monongahela Valley Hospital is accredited by the Pennsylvania Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This live activity is designated for a maximum of 5.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. In addition, MVH will provide 5.0 CEs for nurses in accordance with Pennsylvania Professional Law Section 12.
