MVH Sponsors Annual Multiphasic Blood Analysis Screening
(March 10, 2016 - Carroll Township, Pa.)
Regular health screenings and early detection are among the keys to good health. One of the most important tools in maintaining one's health is having a thorough blood analysis. Just a small blood sample can detect diseases of the heart, liver, kidneys and circulatory system.
Monongahela Valley Hospital is sponsoring a Multiphasic Blood Analysis Screening, Saturday, March 19, from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. On each blood sample, 37 individual tests will be performed that can reveal anemia, lung disease, diabetes, leukemia, high cholesterol, blood disorders and much more. Additional screenings, including A1C, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Prostatic Specific Antigen (PSA) and Vitamin D will be available for a small added cost.
MVH's Multiphasic Blood Analysis is open to the public at a cost of $25 per person. Testing is done by pre-registration and appointment only. Registrations are being accepted until Wednesday, March 16, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., by calling 724-258-1282. Participants are asked to provide the full name and complete address of the physician to whom their test results will be sent.
Medical professionals from the laboratory at Monongahela Valley Hospital will administer the testing. The procedure takes between 15 and 20 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
A 12-hour fasting period is required prior to testing. Those on medication should consult with their physicians.
For more information and appointments, call 724-258-1282, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
